Our Story
Why We Named It “Nature Sings”
In 2019, two Boulder locals with a love for organic farming and artisan pizza set out to prove that fast food doesn’t have to sacrifice quality, sustainability, or flavor. The result was Nature Sings — a premium, eco-conscious pizza delivery service where every single bite celebrates the natural world.
Founded in Boulder, CO
From a Backyard Oven to Pearl Street
Nature Sings began in 2019 when co-founders Marcus Rivera and Elina Johansson started experimenting with organic sourdough pizza in Marcus’s backyard. Armed with a hand-built cob oven, bags of stone-ground flour from Aspen Mills in Fort Collins, and basil from Ollin Farms in Longmont, they hosted weekend pizza nights for friends and neighbors. The response was overwhelming.
Word spread quickly through Boulder’s tight-knit community. By early 2020, Marcus and Elina had secured a commercial kitchen on Pearl Street, imported a traditional Stefano Ferrara wood-fired oven from Naples, Italy, and officially launched Nature Sings as a delivery-first organic pizzeria.
The name “Nature Sings” was inspired by a moment during one of those early backyard sessions. As the sun set over the Flatirons and the aroma of wood-fired pizza filled the air, Elina said: “When food is this fresh, this connected to the land, it’s like nature itself is singing.” The name stuck, and it perfectly captures our philosophy: when you use the finest organic ingredients and treat them with respect, the flavors speak for themselves.
Our Promise
Farm-to-Table, Not Just a Buzzword
At Nature Sings, “farm-to-table” is not a marketing slogan — it is the foundation of everything we do. We have built direct, personal relationships with over a dozen family-owned farms across Boulder County and Northern Colorado. We visit our partner farms regularly, know the farmers by name, and carefully select each ingredient based on seasonality, quality, and sustainable growing practices.
Our commitment extends beyond the ingredients. We use 100% compostable packaging made from plant-based materials. Our delivery fleet includes electric vehicles, and we offset the carbon footprint of every single order. We believe that serving great organic pizza means being responsible stewards of the environment that provides our ingredients.
Every tomato, every leaf of basil, every ball of mozzarella travels fewer than 50 miles from the farm to our kitchen to your table. That is our promise, and it is a promise we keep every single day.

Meet the Founders
The People Behind the Pizza
Marcus spent five years working in artisan bakeries across San Francisco before returning to his hometown of Boulder. His obsession with sourdough fermentation and wood-fired techniques drives the culinary vision of Nature Sings. When he is not at the oven, you will find him hiking the Flatirons with his rescue dog, Olive.
Elina grew up on a small organic farm in Sweden and brings a deep understanding of sustainable agriculture to Nature Sings. She manages all farm partnerships, oversees our zero-waste initiatives, and ensures that every aspect of the business aligns with our environmental mission. She holds a degree in Environmental Science from CU Boulder.
